The support command not only manages the medical service, but also logistics, NBC defense and military police and thus plays a central role in the organization of the Bundeswehr. In total, Funke has more than 55,000 soldiers and civilians under its command. This makes it the second largest organizational area of ​​the Bundeswehr.

The efficiency of the logistics forces is ensured by the logistics command, which comprises around 16,000 service posts and innovatively brings new logistics capabilities to the support area. It ensures that all basic logistics services can be provided both within Germany and abroad. Mobile logistics troops form a close-knit network capable of supplying emergency responders on site with everything they need, including spare parts, ammunition and fuel.
