Sparkasse Bremen: Modern recruiting brings a breath of fresh air for trainees!

Today, Sparkasse Bremen has innovative ways to attract young talent. A warm welcome is the motto at recent events such as information evenings and trainee talks. These formats are intended to enable potential trainees to get to know the Sparkasse as an attractive employer and to make initial contacts. Johanna Brylowski, the human resources officer for recruiting in Bremen, emphasizes that such initiatives are particularly important in order to promote personal exchange and address young talents directly. The response to these new formats has been overwhelmingly positive, says Brylowski, and many young people have been inspired to take up training. Since last year, the Sparkasse has been training 34 bank clerks, additional students in the dual system and clerks for digitalization management and office management.

In order to meet the needs of young people, Sparkasse Bremen also offers speed recruiting. This format enables interested parties to address their questions directly to the trainees in short conversations and even sign a training contract on site. The discussions start at 1 p.m., followed by a relaxed exchange over pizza, which nevertheless enriches the application process from a culinary point of view.

Competition in the training market

The fact that 26,400 young people wanting to train could not find a place in 2023 also deserves special attention. There is obviously a mismatch between the offer and the qualifications. Secondary school graduates in particular had difficulty getting a training place, even though many positions only require this school qualification.
