Tura Bremen and Nature Conservation2go: Bremen projects nominated for commitment award!

Outstanding commitment to the community is very important in Bremen! This year, the renowned German Engagement Prize once again honors the tireless work of numerous initiatives and projects. Particularly pleasing: Weser courier reports that six projects from Bremen have been nominated for the prize, including the sports club Tura Bremen with its valuable project “Dance4Kids”.

Tura Bremen's nomination was made by the German Foundation for Commitment and Volunteering enabled. This foundation has set itself the task of strengthening volunteer work and promotes a wide range of initiatives in Germany. Tura Bremen is one of 390 applicants for the audience prize of 10,000 euros, which can currently be voted on until October 26, 2023.

What makes “Dance4Kids” so special?

The “Dance4Kids” project focuses on promoting movement and creativity in children. Here, not only is the fun of exercise conveyed in a playful way, but the children's social skills are also strengthened. Thanks to a professionally produced image video, which can be part of the prize, the visibility of the project is increased even further.

The award ceremony will take place on December 5, 2023 in Berlin, and the winner of the main prize can be happy about the attractiveness of the prize. In addition to Tura Bremen, 17-year-old Jonte Mai from Findorff is also on the nomination list. With his organization Conservation2go, he has launched a remarkable project dedicated to environmental protection. Jonte fills chewing gum machines with seed capsules for insect-friendly plants, thereby sending a strong signal for a sustainable future.

Celebrate and strengthen volunteerism

Tura Bremen has a special meaning in the Bremen club tradition. Last year the club celebrated its 130th anniversary. For this occasion, a film was produced that highlights the connections and community within the club. Members like Helga Wohlers, Jutta Ackermann and others have their say and report on their experiences and the valuable volunteer work that shapes the association. The film is a loving homage to all those who have contributed to the existence and success of Tura Bremen and illustrates the importance of volunteer work.

The DSEE also invites you to take part in digital formats and events to further support volunteer work. On May 23, 2026, for example, the 77th birthday of the Basic Law will be celebrated with a nationwide participation campaign entitled "Day of Honor. For you. For us. For everyone." carries.
