There is good news for all art enthusiasts in Bremen: The creative workshop in the Kulturhaus Walle is finally opening its doors again after a fire safety renovation. “We are pleased to be able to offer a wide range of courses for young and old,” explains Ingridräder, the head of the creative workshop, which starts on August 19th with a special course on “intuitive painting”. These courses offer a wonderful opportunity to express yourself artistically and encourage creativity.
What can participants expect from “Intuitive Painting”? The principle here is very clear: the head can take a break! Instead, it's about listening to your feelings and surrendering to creative play without negatively evaluating your own thoughts and feelings. “All feelings are welcome and find expression in the picture,” is the philosophy behind this method. The aim is to create a new, lasting encounter with yourself and possibly even resolve blockages and gain new perspectives. The first course will take place on Tuesday, August 19th, the second on Thursday, August 21st from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Creative offerings for every taste
But that's not all the creative workshop has to offer. For garden lovers there is the “Mosaic Stepping Stones for the Garden” course on Sunday, August 24th. Here, participants can create frost-proof stepping stones out of concrete, wire and mosaic stones - an ideal project for taking your creativity into the outside world!
Instead of just sitting, creative minds can also regularly take part in mosaic evenings. These evenings take place on Fridays, the first after the holidays begins on August 15th. Here, beginners learn the mosaic technique to design various creative objects such as flower pots or mirrors. And if you like it warm and cozy, you can look forward to the felt workshop. This starts on Wednesday, August 20th and will introduce participants to the basic techniques of wet felting.
Costs and registration
The course fees vary depending on the event: The “Intuitive Painting” course costs 60 euros plus 20 euros for material costs. Fees of 25 euros and 25 euros respectively plus material costs of 5 euros are provided for the mosaic course and the mosaic evenings.
The importance of creative expression is evident not only in art therapy and creativity promotion, but also in the benefits for mental health. Both in art therapy and in other creative media such as music and movement, people are perceived as creative beings. These creative processes can help to find new ways of expression that promote health in an often alienated world.
