Vegesack invests 86,000 euros: This is how local clubs benefit!

This year, the Vegesack advisory board has a considerable budget of around 86,000 euros available to support local clubs and institutions. Again Weser courier reported, the second round of allocations took place this week after some of the funds had already been distributed in May. The funding in this round includes significant sums intended to strengthen the local community.

Vegesack Marketing receives a boost of 5,814.40 euros for the Maritim Festival. The Seemanschor Vegesack is pleased to receive 1,000 euros for new clothing, while the Vegesack local history and museum association will receive 3,000 euros for archive cabinets. The Ulrichs Helgen children's and family center can also expect to pay 1,702.24 euros for outdoor vehicles. Finally, Erste Lesumer Fernsehen gets 760 euros for a new laptop.

A scramble for resources

But not all applications receive the expected response. SG Aumund-Vegesack applied for 6,500 euros for a floor and low jump mat, but only received 2,175.37 euros. The Lesummünde Association for German Shepherd Dogs was also disappointed because it had originally applied for 1,715.16 euros for new windows, but was only approved for 600 euros. Two further applications that were addressed to the Youth Advisory Board had to be rescheduled due to weather conditions after it was dissolved. The local office manager, Gunnar Sgolik, confirmed that applications financed from the Youth Advisory Council's budget had also received the approval of the Senate Chancellery.

As part of the applications, the German Red Cross was also considered with 950 euros for a cooking project. Nature lovers in Germany can look forward to 500 euros for a climbing play facility. This support shows how important local initiatives are in a community.

Citizen participation as a guide

The Vegesacker Advisory Board, a 16-member, popularly elected body, takes care of district-related matters and actively promotes exchange between citizens and politicians. Heike Sprehe, the advisory board spokeswoman, encourages those from Vegesacker to take part in the public advisory board meetings and to raise their concerns directly. These events are not only an opportunity to obtain information, but also enable a lively citizen participation, which is becoming increasingly important in today's times.

Like the platform Thoughts politics emphasizes, trust in politics is often shaky and many citizens feel powerless. Citizen participation becomes a key resource for integrating opinions and needs into the political decision-making process. To this end, it is important that local institutions, including political parties, create effective framework conditions that enable active participation.

A look into the future

The new advisory board will be formed in the coming weeks and the members will be announced. The Vegesack Advisory Board has the opportunity to significantly improve the quality of life in the region by promoting and supporting local projects. Citizens' consultation hours, which take place on the first Tuesday of every month, are a further step towards citizen-oriented policies that are based on the needs of the community.

As experience shows, challenges in citizen participation certainly exist, but the opportunities presented by an engaged community are more than promising. The Vegesack local office is clearly on the side of the citizens and invites everyone to actively participate.
